We  are three humble political science professors who want to do our part to elevate the conversation about American politics. We are dismayed that the mainstream news media doesn’t seem to be capable of presenting the kinds of conversations we know that Americans deserve to have about their democracy. We are inspired by the great work of other political scientists who are reaching out to share classroom conversations and ongoing research with the American public. We also listen to podcasts, and thought it would be cool to do one ourselves.

So here we are.

Please listen, share, and let us know what you think.

We teach political science at the University of San Diego. It’s a great place to work and a great place to learn. It is also always 70 degrees, so that’s nice.

Casey B. K. Dominguez received her PhD in Political Science from UC Berkeley. (Go Bears!) She researches and teaches about the presidency, political parties, elections, and campaign finance. She loves baseball, science fiction, and chocolate.

Cory Charles Gooding received his PhD in Political Science from UCLA. He researches race, ethnicity, and politics in the U.S. A New Yorker living the west coast life, Cory is a fan of basketball, soulful music, and ridiculous puns.

Timothy Wyman McCarty  received his PhD in Politics from Brandeis University. He writes and teaches about political theory.
